AIDS ALLIANCE FOR CHILDREN, YOUTH & FAMILIES

NEWS ALERTS

We’ve Heard …

  • A recent Boston Legal episode on ABC focused on abstinence-only programs.  In the episode, a mom and her 15-year-old, HIV-positive daughter successfully sued the daughter's school for teaching an abstinence-only curriculum, which depicted condoms as ineffective and dangerous.
  • Mildred Williamson, PhD, former AIDS Alliance board president and nationally-recognized expert on HIV and families, is serving as AIDS Alliance's interim executive director during the national search for the next executive director. Dr. Williamson was the founding administrator of the Ryan White Title IV program housed at the CORE Center in Chicago, IL, and is now an administrator for the Ambulatory & Community Health Network, Cook County Bureau of Health Services.  The AIDS Alliance family is happy to welcome Mildred and looks forward to working with her.
  • AIDS Alliance's government affairs associate has a new name.  Following her recent wedding vows, Rachael Jankowski became Rachael Dombrowski.  Congratulations Rachael!
