AIDS Alliance Hails Selection of Jeffrey Crowley as Director of ONAP
|
Washington, D.C.- AIDS Alliance for Children, Youth and Families congratulates Jeffrey Crowley for being named Director of the Office of National AIDS Policy (ONAP) yesterday. His appointment to this critical role for the development and promotion of a National AIDS Strategy is widely supported throughout the entire HIV/AIDS community.
Jeffrey Crowley has the experience to bring a fresh new approach and expertise to ONAP, including a wide range of knowledge acquired as Senior Research Scholar at the Health Policy Institute of Georgetown University and as a Senior Scholar at the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law, Georgetown University Law Center.
“Jeffrey Crowley is an excellent addition to the administration as the Director of ONAP, as this reaffirms President Obama’s strong commitment to the development of a National AIDS Strategy and reduction in the number of people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS,” said Alelia Munroe, AIDS Alliance Board President. “As HIV incidence among women, especially in the African American and Latino communities continues to rise, the need for a unified strategy in the fight against HIV/AIDS is a clear and urgent reality.”
AIDS Alliance for Children, Youth and Families looks forward to continued work with the Obama administration and the entire AIDS community in facing the challenges that lie ahead in the fight for a world without AIDS.
