Washington, DC, February 7, 2008 – The Board of Directors of AIDS Alliance for Children, Youth & Families announced today a change in transitional leadership for the organization.  The Board has named Linda H. Scruggs and Diana Bruce Co-Interim Executive Directors as the national search for a new Executive Director continues.

"The Board is excited to elevate Ms. Scruggs and Ms. Bruce, who bring more than 30 combined years working on behalf of marginalized communities, to the helm of AIDS Alliance during this transition," stated Alelia Munroe, AIDS Alliance President.  "Ms. Scruggs and Ms. Bruce are nationally recognized experts on women and HIV who have successfully led numerous efforts and programs to advance the lives of women, children, youth and families living with HIV/AIDS, and they have served on AIDS Alliance's senior staff for several years," added Munroe.  Ms. Scruggs is the current Deputy Director of Programs and Ms. Bruce is the Director of Policy and Government Affairs.

"On behalf of the entire Board," continued Munroe, "I would like to express our gratitude and appreciation toward President Emeritus Mildred Williamson, Ph.D., for her commitment and leadership to AIDS Alliance over the past few months."  Dr. Williamson served as Interim Executive Director since September 2007.
